WELCOME TO STAR ACADEMY!
It is an honor and a privilege to serve as the Principal for Star Academy at Natomas Charter School. All of my experience as an educator has been with charter schools, as I am an avid supporter of parental choice in education.
I also believe in providing an education environment where teachers are the architects of student learning where they provide innovative and creative learning opportunities for all students. I have 17 years of experience in K-12 education, working with highly successful charter schools and school districts similar to Natomas Charter School. I have 6 years of experience in school administration. 4 of those years were as a vice principal and 2 of those years were as a school site principal. Prior to entering school administration I was a classroom teacher for over 11 years. I have taught kindergarten, 2nd grade, 4th grade, and 6th grade. My favorite part of my job is supporting students and teachers in the classroom.
Star Academy is a special place for all students to grow and learn. Star Academy is a classroom based program that offers primary grade students (TK-5) a comprehensive, balanced, and student-centered curriculum in a supportive an nurturing environment. Hands-on learning activities emphasize critical thinking and real-world problem solving, and encourages creativity. A myriad of academic and social enrichment activities support literacy, math proficiency, wellness, technology, the arts, and multi-lingual learning.
