Star Academy, one of five Natomas Charter School academies, offers students a comprehensive and student-centered curriculum in a supportive and nurturing environment. Through differentiated instruction, hands-on learning activities emphasize critical thinking and encourage creativity, and moderate class sizes provide an opportunity to meet each individual student's needs. The academy also utilizes research-based materials to develop each student’s reading level to proficiency by the end of second grade.
Star Academy currently offers instruction in Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and grades kindergarten to third. For the 2013-2014 school year, third grade has been included in our program. Each succeeding year through fifth grade, two classes of 26 students each will be added to the grade level.
By utilizing multi-faceted approaches, real-world examples, applications, and experiences, our vision is to develop well-rounded individuals of character who possess strong critical thinking and problem solving skills to become global citizens and lifelong learners.
The Natomas Charter School shall be nonsectarian in its programs, admissions policies, employment practices and all other operations, shall not charge tuition, and shall not discriminate against any pupil on the basis of ethnicity, national origin, gender or disability.
